Home: Welcome

Stacy Uyekubo, MD

Dr. Stacy Uyekubo is a Board Certified Psychiatrist with over 20 years of clinical training and experience.  She earned her undergraduate degree in Economics at Harvard University, received her Medical Degree from UC San Francisco Medical School, and completed her training in Adult Psychiatry at Stanford University.  After her formal training, Dr. Uyekubo spent a few years living and working on the Navajo Reservation in Fort Defiance, AZ before returning home to Honolulu.  She has been in private practice since 2010.

Dr. Uyekubo specializes in combining medication management with psychotherapy in treating adults (primarily ages 26 to 65+) with DSM V disorders such as: depression, anxiety, panic attacks, sleep problems, acute and post-traumatic stress, and obsessive compulsive disorders.

In addition, Dr. Uyekubo provides psychotherapy and support for phase-of-life problems such as: family, marital, or other interpersonal relationship problems, work or career stressors, problems arising in the peri- or post-partum period, parenting problems, elder or other care-giver burnout, problems related to menopause or aging, bereavement, traumatic loss or complicated grief problems, as well as psychological problems arising from chronic or severe medical illness.

A Doctor-Patient Partnership

At Psychiatry Group Hawaii Ltd., we view the doctor-patient relationship as a therapeutic partnership based on mutual trust, respect, understanding and communication. Patients take an active role in their treatment, where doctor and patient work together to develop a treatment plan that both meets patient's needs and goals, and is also consistent with the doctor's  treatment philosophy and standard of care.

Through developing better self-awareness and self-acceptance, and in utilizing healthier coping skills, our hope is that patients who engage in therapy (with or without the support of medications) are empowered to live their lives freely and to the fullest -- to become their own best advocates for their health and in their lives as a whole.

Video Chat: How it Works

  • At the beginning of your scheduled appointment time, we will send you a text and/or email link.

  • Click on the link and follow the directions/prompts, and the video chat session will be up and running.

  • You will NOT need to create account or download a special app.

  • These sessions are not recorded and the link will expire after the session is over, thus protecting your privacy.
